The Healing Journey: Beyond Cancer
Sharing my thoughtful, open reflections on rebuilding life, strength and self after cancer.
A space to support others in their journey, dedicated to wellness and recovery insights.
From a doctor turned patient, bridging the gaps in care for anyone navigating healing challenges.
Gentle note:
Healing looks different for everyone. This is simply what I’m learning along the way.
This space is a reflection of my personal experience of cancer and recovery, shaped by both my background as a doctor and my time as a patient.
I share what I’m learning in the hope that it may offer comfort, perspective, or support—but it isn’t a substitute for individual medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Please take what you like, and leave what you don't. And always seek support from your own doctor if you have any concerns about your health.
MISSION
Bridging the Gap
My Why
I’m Tara. A mum, wife, daughter, sister; all before overcoming cancer.
I was diagnosed with lymphoma during my maternity leave last year, when my daughter was just 6 months old. Thankfully, I’m in remission and feel ready to share my story of recovery.
As both a doctor and patient, I’ve experienced care from both sides – something not many people can say. Through my own healing, I’ve come to realise that there is a gap in support from being told you’re “all clear” to truly feeling well again. Recovery can feel like a lonely journey.
My hope is to bridge that gap, combining my lived experience with my clinical background, and in doing so, support others in their own path to recovery, from whatever that may be.
So if you’re going through something similar, or supporting someone who is – you’re not alone here.
Welcome to The Healing Journey.
